Desusino Mount Archaeological Area in Butera
The Monte Desusino Archaeological Area in Butera is a vast archaeological area not yet fully explored where vestiges from the Bronze Age, the Archaic Greek period and that of the Timoleontean reconstruction of the 4th century BC have been found. In this archaeological site the presence of the remains of a fortified city is characteristic where various access doors, equipped with towers, the city walls and the acropolis have been highlighted; here, in particular, the base of a sacred building and an orthogonal layout of streets have been identified.
The site is in a very poor state of conservation.
