The Church of the Collegio in Caltabellotta
The church of the Collegio in Caltabellotta rises in the northern part of the built-up area.
It has a smooth, cuspid masonry façade, bordered at the corners by two corner pilasters and a portal with small shelves. The entrance door is carved: in the upper part there are seraphs, in the lower part there are rose windows. On the side it has some tall, slightly projecting pilasters which are believed to be linked to a tampering that took place in the 18th century. To the left of the facade there is a bell tower with a small bell.
The interior, with a single nave, has six chapels sunk on the sides.
Among the works kept in the church we remember: the statue of San Francesco di Paola; the statue of the Madonna of the Pomegranate; that of the Madonna della Melagrana, the simulacrum of Santo Espedito, of the Sleeping Madonna or Assunta and of San Benedetto, coming from the church of the same name now reduced to a ruin.
