Bona Palace in Caltabellotta
Palazzo Bona di Caltabellotta is the most important noble palace in the village and is of considerable historical and architectural interest. fourteenth-century origin. Over the centuries, the building has undergone various alterations, in the second half of the eighteenth century it was rebuilt on the original pre-existing structure, in the early nineteenth century the elevations were completed. It has a large internal atrium which leads to the main floor consisting of 24 very large rooms.
According to recent studies on the site of the Bona palace there was a "palacho count" with an internal courtyard belonging to the Luna family. For this reason it is likely that the basement of Palazzo Bona, the only stately home with an internal courtyard in the entire historic center, represents the first plant of the real Castello Luna.
