Calvary in Naro
Calvary in Naro is a monumental complex that, during Holy Week, is a place of pilgrimage and prayer for the faithful.
It was built in 1619 by order of Father Gaspare Paraninfo, with the contribution of the faithful. It has been renovated several times over the centuries.
The monumental complex, in baroque style, is surrounded by an iron railing closed by a large gate. It is made up of two projecting iron staircases that intertwine until they reach the base of the large central cross, enclosed by a small iron fence, flanked by two cypress trees and the other two crosses. On the ground floor there is the tomb, enclosed by high walls with an iron gate, where on the night of Holy Thursday the simulacrum of the dead Christ is kept vigil all night.
