Church of the Madonna del Lume in Naro
The Church of the Madonna del Lume in Naro is a small place of worship in the village.
It was built in the first half of the eighteenth century and dedicated to Maria Santissima del Lazaretto, at the behest of Father Giovanni Battista Timpanaro; it belonged to the Franciscan fathers. Its current appearance is due to a renovation carried out in the second half of the eighteenth century.
The gabled façade has a valuable portal in cut stone, finely carved. The bell tower is attached to the façade and consists of four squat red brick pillars.
The interior, with a single nave, is enriched with stucco and frames.
Inside the church there is a valuable wooden statuary complex of the Madonna del Lume, interesting, formed by the Madonna who supports the Child in her left hand, while with her right she grabs by the arm a sinner who is about to fall into hell.
