Necropolis Anguilla in Ribera
The Anguilla Necropolis in Ribera is an archaeological site dating back to the 13th century BC, middle and late Bronze Age.
The necropolis is located in the Anguilla district and was discovered in 1982.
In the necropolis some two different types of tombs: artificial cave tombs and chamber tombs, some of which are preceded by a dromos, a sort of corridor. The tombs found consist of one or two rooms with a domed vault, in which there is a sort of step, the place where the deceased and the votive objects were placed.
The Anguilla necropolis is of considerable scientific interest because it houses unique tombs , in size and type, throughout western Sicily.
