Angelo Scandaliato square in Sciacca
Piazza Scandaliato in Sciacca is the oldest square in the city.
Before the 20th century the square appeared as a small pedestrian area, a square in front of two ancient medieval monuments: the church of San Domenico, and the Jesuit convent, now the town hall. Subsequently, the square was enlarged thanks to the filling works of the underlying moat. Today, renovated in a modern style, it is the cultural and entertainment center of the city of Sciacca.
