Agnello Palace in Siculiana
Palazzo Agnello in Siculiana is an important historical building in the village.
It was built in the 18th century and belonged to the influential Agnello family, who arrived in Siculiana in 1797.
The palace is divided into three orders separated by frames string course and has a solid stone structure. Of particular value are the stone decorations of the openings on the first and second floors.
Inside, the triumphal staircases and the decorations of the rooms are of particular value.
Illustrious personalities have been hosted in this palace: Giuseppe Tomasi from Lampedusa he was a guest in this house and here he wrote some parts of the Leopard; in 1962 Karlheinz Stockhausen was hosted, one of the greatest music composers of the 20th century who created the fundamental sketches of momente, an opera dedicated to the city of Siculiana; in 1964 the film crew of the film "Sedotta e Abandonata" by Pietro Germi was hosted.
