Torre Salsa Nature Reserve
The Torre Salsa Nature Reserve is a protected natural area located in the Siculiana area. It is an uncontaminated place with calm and shallow waters, Mediterranean scrub bushes and golden beaches.
The heart of the Reserve, inside the wetland, is the Torre Salsa, an ancient watchtower, dating back to the end of 1500, that dominates the top of a small clay promontory.
The territory is characterized by soft terraces, the wide depression of the quagmire and the cliff with an irregular morphology. The coast of the reserve is characterized by stretches of high coast where blue clays emerge, calcareous stratifications with chalk banks, white marls eroded by the wind action that form sheer cliffs and loose sand in the low stretches that make up the coastal dunes.
