Temple of Juno in Valley of Temples
Berthold Werner - CC3.0
Temple of Juno, also known as the temple of Hera Lacinia, is a Greek temple of the ancient city of Akragas located in the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento.
It was built in the second half of the 5th century BC, and belongs as an epoch and as a style to the period of the classical Doric. Today the northern colonnade with the epistyle and part of the frieze is preserved. The colonnades facing the other three sides are instead only partially erected without architrave. Finally, on the east side you can see considerable remains of the monumental altar preceded by a flight of ten steps that led to the platform on which the sacrifices were celebrated.
