Museum of the Carnival of Acireale
The Museum of the Carnival of Acireale, located in the Palazzo del Turismo of Acireale, tells the story and art of the most beautiful Carnival in Sicily.
In the Carnival of Acirealevarious objects are exhibited that describe the manufacturing process of the papier-mâché carts: from metal frames of masks to plaster casts, from miniature wagons to sketches. Also exhibited are pieces of notable artistic value made by great papier-mâché masters such as the rose window of the Acese Cathedral made by Rosario Lizio and the detail of Palazzo Musmeci, the work of Natale Longo.
