Puglisi Cosentino Palace in Acireale
Palazzo Puglisi Cosentino in Acireale is a valuable civil building in Baroque style.
Built in the eighteenth century, it has a façade characterized by the chromatic contrast between the white plaster and the architectural elements in lava stone. Of particular value are the wrought iron balcony railings.
The building, divided over two floors, has a plan that schematically forms an "L". On the ground floor, from the entrance hall, vaulted by a system of arches and lunette barrels, there is access on one side to rooms covered by cruises, used as an office and home, and on the other to the stairwell leading to the first floor. On the main floor, continuing from the entrance, there is a sequence of three halls, of which the most representative, corresponding to the grandstand of the façade, is covered by a lunette cross.
