Acireale Cathedral Square
Piazza del Duomo in Acireale is a real open-air museum thanks to the charm of the monuments that overlook it: the Cathedral of Maria Santissima Annunziata from the 15th century, the Cathedral of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul of the XVI-XVII century, the Municipal Palace of the XVIII century, and Palazzo Modò in which the Eldorado Theater was housed.
The decoration of the pavement, renewed in 2009, has several concentric rings that recall the shapes of a Gothic rose window, similar to that of the facade of the Cathedral.
