Piazza Garibaldi in Acireale
Piazza Garibaldi in Acireale is a small park in the center of the city. It is known by the inhabitants of Acisa as the small villa, to distinguish it from the larger city park of Villa Belvedere.
It was built in 1861. It originally hosted theatrical shows, performances of the circuses that came to the city and the weekly market held on Saturdays. In the center of the main flowerbed, the War Memorial was placed in 1929, the work of the Acisco sculptor Michele La Spina.
