One Hundred Statues of Belpasso
The Hundred Statues of Belper is an open-air museum with works of art in lava stone located in the streets and squares of the city. The project that plans to create a long, unprecedented itinerary of works of art in lava stone scattered throughout the area. Some dozen works of art have already been placed along the streets in 2016 and can be visited freely by the public in a fascinating and original sculptural path. The project is still ongoing.
The works of art are located along the main road, Via Roma, which crosses the heart of the historic center, in the Martoglio Garden, scattered with statues, and extends in some sections of Via Vittorio Emanuele and up to Piazza Stella Aragona, in the Borrello district.
The Municipality organizes several times a year of "Symposia" of Sculpture where artists can create the works that will later be positioned in urban spaces according to a predetermined design.
