Villa of the Sicilian Vespers in Linguaglossa
The Villa dei Vespri Siciliani in Linguaglossa is a large public garden.
It was built at the end of the 1950s, on the site of a large vineyard. It was called Villa dei Vespri Siciliani to remember Sicily and its history: it was in fact designed with a triangular shape and the adjacent streets were named after great Sicilian historical figures.
Inside the In the park there are two important monuments: the monument dedicated to Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino, the work of the marble worker Rosario La Guzza. The monument consists of a lava stone stele with a splinter of lava which symbolizes the violent death of the two great Palermo judges who were victims of the mafia; the monument dedicated to the Hon. Attilio Castrogiovanni, founder of the Sicilian independence movement, consisting of a bronze bust created by the sculptor Salvatore Incorpora.
Inside the park there are various spaces used as play areas for children.
