Nelson English Cemetery in Maniace
The Nelson English Cemetery in Maniace represents the only property that the heirs of the Nelson family own in the territory of Maniace.
It is a small English cemetery established in 1898. Inside there are some tombs of English dukes and nobles, and the tomb of the poet William Sharp, an important exponent of English romanticism, who died in Maniace in 1905 during his stay in the Duchy, guest of the 5th Duke Alexander Nelson Hood. Three victims of the Second World War are also buried in the cemetery.
Today the cemetery is given under concession to the ProLoco of Maniace.
