Sartorius Mountains
The Sartorius Mountains constitute a famous panoramic itinerary within the Etna Park, starting near the Citelli Refuge. The name of these mountains is due to the famous German volcanologist Wolfgang Sartorius.
The eruption of 1865 on the northeastern side of Etna offers numerous insights along the bottoniera of the eruptive cones. In the area there is a lush colony of Etna birch trees surrounding the craters. The route is suitable for all types of hikers.
