Giuseppina Faro House Museum in Pedara
The Domus Caritatis Giuseppina Faro House Museum in Pedara is the place where the Servant of God Giuseppina Faro lived, to whom a profound popular devotion is linked.
The building is also of particular artistic interest. It was probably built at the end of the eighteenth century as some documents dating back to 1771 testify that at that time the Faro family, originally from Trecastagni and who would become the richest in the country during the first half of the nineteenth century, owned extensive land in Pedara. Of particular value is the sundial located on the internal façade facing south and other typical elements of Etna architecture such as the courtyard with cistern, the cellars, the wine-making mills.
An exhibition itinerary has been created inside the building museum and a creativity laboratory dedicated to the Servant of God Giuseppina Faro.
