Church of San Vito in Pedara
The Church of San Vito in Pedara houses, according to tradition, an ancient wooden crucifix that belonged to the first construction of the Mother Church.
The date of construction of the church is not known, it is certain that it existed before 1642, and it is believed to have been built by the will of a family who owned large plots of land in that area. It was seriously damaged by the earthquake of 1693 and reopened for worship in 1709.
The simple rectangular facade is enriched by the curvilinear element placed to crown the facade. In the center is the portal made of lava stone ashlars surmounted by a small rose window, also made of lava stone ashlars.
Inside the church is the ancient wooden crucifix and the simulacrum of San Vito.
