Monte Troina Park in Pedara
The Monte Troina Natural Park constitutes the great green lung of the city.
The park contains an ancient volcanic cone which is now completely covered by vegetation. In particular, its slopes have been cultivated with vineyards. Inside it branches off a natural path of great beauty characterized by the presence of traditional Sicilian dry stone walls. On the north side of the volcanic cone there is a staircase that leads to a square where there is a votive chapel known as Calvary, where pilgrimages and performances take place during the Easter period. The path that leads to the top of Mount Troina starts next to the staircase, from where you can enjoy a breathtaking view that extends from Etna to the sea. Inside the park there is a small equipped area and a children's play area.
