Municipal Park in Pedara
The Angelo D'Arrigo Municipal Park in Pedara is one of the largest public gardens in Sicily. The park is dedicated to Angelo D'Arrigo, a well-known sports flying champion who tragically passed away in 2006.
The park extends for several hectares, is divided into several levels and crossed by numerous paths, stairs and avenues. Inside the park there are different types of arboreal and shrubby plants. Of particular value is a centenary specimen of stone pine, considered among the oldest in Italy. Inside the park there is a play area for children.
From Piazza Don Bosco, joined to the park, you can enjoy a splendid view of the sea and Mount Etna.
The park is home to numerous sporting and entertainment events, especially during the summer season.
