Church of San Michele in Piedimonte Etneo
The Church of San Michele in Piedimonte Etneo is a small eighteenth-century building of worship.
It was built in 1718 at the behest of Prince Ferdinando Francesco to fulfill a vow made during a violent popular uprising in Palermo.
The simple gabled façade features a lava stone portal that contrasts with the white plaster of the building. Above, on the right side, there is a bell tower.
The interior, with a single nave, is of modest architecture.
