Immacolata College in Trecastagni
The Immacolata College in Trecastagni, also known as the Conservatory of the Virgins, is an imposing eighteenth-century building.
It was built in 1711 at the behest of the sac. Alfio Coco and was intended for the education of local young people.
The building incorporates within it the Church of Santa Maria Immacolata which is located in correspondence with the viewing tower of the building.
The interior of the church is decorated with floral and ornamental motifs. On the main altar there is the simulacrum of the Madonna of Lourdes.
Among the works kept in the church, noteworthy are two ancient canvases depicting the Madonna surrounded by the protectors of the Opera Pia and one Crucifixion.
