Valverde is a small Etna village known for its important Sanctuary.
Valverde, less known as Aci Belverde, is part of the Aci territory, whose origin is linked to the city of Xiphonia, a mysterious Greek center today disappeared. Its history, until the 17th century, is in fact shared with that of the other farmhouses in the Aci area.
The symbolic monument of the town is the Sanctuary of Maria Santissima di Valverde, of medieval origin even if it was remodeled in later periods.
