Monte Serra park in Viagrande
The Monte Serra Park in Viagrande, on the slopes of Etna, takes its name from the homonymous mountain on which it develops, for an extension of about 30 hectares: Monte Serra is the Etnean adventitious cone closest to the sea, characterized by a horseshoe shape.
The Park protects a rich natural environment by offering visitors an easily accessible green oasis: in addition to the volcanic cone covered with Mediterranean scrub, there are an oak forest, nature trails and areas equipped for use and environmental education. Thanks to the careful defense of the territory, the flora and fauna of this environment have been increasingly enriched with new elements, boasting today the stable presence of species of great naturalistic value.
Inside the park is the Casa delle Farfalle in Viagrande.
