Madonna del Burgarito Church in Alimena
The Madonna del Burgarito Church in Alimena is a small rural church of eighteenth-century origin, the oldest among the chapel-churches that stand outside the town.
It is believed that the current building was rebuilt on the remains of an older one building.
The simple gabled façade, in stone, is crowned by a small lateral bell tower and, in the centre, by an iron cross.
Its peculiar characteristic is the apse built on the overhanging rock.
The church is a pilgrimage destination.
