Monument to the Lame of Gangi
The Monument to the Zoppo di Gangi is a bronze work depicting Giuseppe Salerno, better known as the Zoppo di Gangi.
The sculpture, one meter and eighty centimeters high, was made of bronze resin by the young Palermo sculptor Gabriele Venanzio who donated it to the community of Gangi. It was placed, 380 years after the painter's death, in the main square of the village, at the foot of the Torre dei Ventimiglia. The statue reflects the physical characteristics of the artist and, on the ground, the bag of tools of the trade are also reproduced.
