Mandria del Colle Lake in Madonie
The little lake of Mandria del Conte is a suggestive artificial lake immersed in the Parco delle Madonie, located above Piano Zucchi, before reaching Piano Battaglia. It is a small artificial lake, with green waters, hidden in the mountains that opens onto a classic Madonite valley. In the coldest periods of the year, the lake becomes frozen and, surrounded by snow, makes the landscape even more suggestive.
The basin was created in the mid-seventies, diverting the waters of the Madonie stream, to make the most of the beauty of these places that at the time were a popular tourist destination.
