Church of the Collegio in Petralia Soprana

The Church of the Collegio di Petralia Soprana o Church of San Giovanni Evangelista, dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus , is an admirable example of late Baroque architecture. The Collegio di Maria is annexed to it.
It was built in the 18th century and has an elegant monastic Baroque style.
The facade presents a balanced balance of the masses given the presence of spaces adorned with protruding forms. The main bell of the church bears the date of 1768.
The interior is characterized by a single nave with an oval plan, and is decorated with pure gold stucco.
