Polizzi Generosa Castle
Piazza Castello - Polizzi Generosa (PA)
The Castello di Polizzi Generosa stands on an isolated spur overlooking the valley of the river Imera. At one time the castle was placed to control the road network between the Tyrrhenian coast and the interior of Sicily.
Today only few remains of the castle of Polizzi remain incorporated in new buildings . The oldest wall portions are built with roughly hewn local limestone stones and bonded with mortar.
