Church of San Pietro in Pollina
The Church of San Pietro Apostolo in Pollina is one of the oldest buildings of worship in the village.
It was built in 1137 but over the centuries it has undergone numerous alterations: some traces of the original structure are still preserved in the apse. One of the ceilings shows the date 1562-1563, a period in which an important renovation of the church dates back. In the 19th century, further important renovations were carried out.
Inside the church are kept: the wooden statue of Saint Peter placed on the main altar; the shell-shaped choir decorated with 18th century paintings; the wooden statues of the SS. Trinity and St. Philip the Apostle placed in the chapel of the Sacrament.
