Inspector Montalbano - Mangiapane Cave

Some scenes of the episode "Ladro di Merendine" of the television series "Il Commissario Montalbano" were filmed at the Grotta Mangiapane in Custonaci.
The commissioner will conduct part of his investigations in this suggestive location, a cave inside which a small self-sufficient village was founded with craft shops, a tavern, stables and houses.
The series, based on the novels by Andrea Camilleri, tells the story of Salvo Montalbano, police commissioner in the imaginary Sicilian town of Vigata.
