The fountains of Novara di Sicilia
- CC1.0
In the village of Novara di Sicilia there are several monumental fountains.
These fountains, generally located in the most populated parts of the village, were built starting from the end of the 19th century. On the front of some of them the official coat of arms of the Municipality is carved in marble: a walnut tree, and on one side a V which stands for Universitas, on the other an N which stands for Novariae.
The coat of arms of the municipality was represented for the first time in an anonymous manuscript, consisting of a notebook, whose frontispiece bears the date 23 June 1884.
