Garibaldi and the doctor Giuseppe Basile
It is known that Garibaldi was wounded in the leg. Less known is the name of the doctor who treated his wound.
Doctor Giuseppe Basile, born in Siculiana in 1830, was a member of the General Ambulance of the Garibaldi Corps and gave his fundamental contribution to solving the most famous clinical case of the Italian Risorgimento: the wound in Giuseppe Garibaldi's leg caused by a cannonball .
In Museum of Memory and Territory it is possible to retrace the various events that led to the resolution of this important clinical case.
