Piazza Armerina was chosen as the location and film set for most of the scenes of the docu-film the Golden Kingdom directed by Klaus Steindl.
Numerous local peoples are involved in the scenes, but in particular the Armigeri, the Knights and even the Horses usually protagonists of the "Palio dei Normanni"
