Places La Terra Trema - Aci Trezza
The seaside village of Aci Trezza is the place where the film "La Terra Trema" inspired by "I Malavoglia" by Giovanni Verga was set.
Luchino Visconti, in the making of the film, chose to follow the foundations of Neorealism. The cast of actors was chosen entirely from the inhabitants of the small fishing village of Aci Trezza. The earth trembles finds its setting in Aci Trezza and is a powerful cinematographic translation of the work literary by Giovanni Verga: in the film there is an alternation between the enchantment of the stacks and the living conditions of the characters. A journey into different scenes, between the alleys of the seaside village and their bare houses.
