Legend of the Salaparuta wood

A popular legend tells of a witch who allegedly made the Salaparuta family her home.
Among the many misdeeds of the witch it is said that she used to make children disappear. The local people did not tolerate her presence and decided to chase her away. The witch, before leaving that place, placed a curse on it. It was then that St. Joseph intervened, Patron Saint of Salaparuta, who appeared in a dream to the inhabitants reassuring them that the lands around the town would be blessed and never unproductive.
In fact, the Salaparuta countryside is fertile and very productive land.
