Legend of the dancing stones
The legend of the enchanted rocks tells of a spell capable of petrifying some men engaged in a sabbatical dance.
The enchanted rocks are a complex of sandstone rocks located in the Ronza park, in Enna, arranged around a circle and with human features. Their shape and arrangement has given rise to the hypothesis that it may be a dolmenic alignment of prehistoric origin and has given rise to a popular legend.
Legend has it that on Shrove Tuesday a group of people found themselves passing through there singing and dancing. When midnight came, and therefore Ash Wednesday, the young people did not stop celebrating, so their punishment was over: the party was condemned to dance forever imprisoned in stone.
