La città di Ispica con il suo splendido loggiato del Sinatra fa da set ad alcune scene del film "Il Viaggio".
The film was shot in the cities of Noto, Milan, Venice, Rome, Naples, Ispica and Palermo.
Some scenes were shot in Ispica at the Loggiato del Sinatra which, in the film, is the elementary school attended by Nandino. In the film we see the scene of the first day of school of the child who is accompanied by his uncle Cesare.
The journey is a 1974 film, directed by Vittorio De Sica in his last film direction, with Sophia Loren and Richard Burton. It is based on a 1910 novel by Luigi Pirandello.
The film tells of Adriana, a beautiful and charming woman who remains a widow following the death of her husband in a car accident. The situation gets complicated when Cesare, the brother of the deceased spouse and his only love, begins to court the woman. However, their relationship is hampered by an incurable disease from which the woman suffers, which leaves the two lovers only moments of passion stolen from fate.
