Several novels and short stories by Luigi Capuana were set in Mineo.
One of Luigi Capuana's major works is the Marquis of Rovaldina. The Roccaverdina house is Palazzo Morgana.

On the side of the avenue that led up there, the Roccaverdina house had an entrance on the ground floor, while on the opposite side the carved stone facade rose with three other plans on the poor plaster houses by which it was surrounded. The other sides, to the south and north, followed the steep elevation of the land (...). Another important work by the author is Scurpiddu em>, in Sicilian shrpo, dry branch. This book, which narrates the country life of Mommo, a nine-year-old boy, is set in country villa of Luigi Capuana.
