Origin of the Church of the Madonna of Tagliavia a Vita
The construction of the Church of the Madonna of Tagliavia a Vita is linked to a miraculous event that occurred in 1896.
It is said that the Holy Virgin appeared in a dream to a local farmer, a certain Giuseppe Perricone Monaco, asking him to build a sacred place dedicated to her.
The man woke up from his sleep and managed to move his paralyzed arm for almost a year and, grateful for the grace received, he built a chapel dedicated to the Virgin. In 1933 the chapel was enlarged and the current building was erected at the behest of his daughter Maria Perticone Triolo.
