The etymology of the term "Antillo" indicates the ancient origin of the small village of Antillo.
According to a first interpretation, the term Antillo would derive from the Greek and would mean first flower. According to a second interpretation, the origin of the term would be Latin: ante illos, i.e. "before those" or, if you prefer, "before the others".
Both interpretations support the thesis that, in the valley of Agrò, the people of Antillo existed before the others.
