The origin of the name of the Borgo Monterosso Almo tells of its history and its geographical location.
The first part of the name, "Monterosso", is the union of the term monte and the name of the feudal lord Arrigo Rosso who gave life to the first inhabited settlement. The specification "Almo", which means excellent, refers to its splendid panoramic position and has been added since 1863.
