Origin of the name - Milo -
It is believed that the origin of the name - Milo - is linked to the presence of an ancient water mill.
The presence of the Mulino del Milo since remote times in the territory of Milo has led many scholars to believe that the term Milo may be derived from a declension of the word Mulino : the water mill was called Aqua Mili which, in the local dialect, becomes Acqua di lu Milu, hence Milo.
