The etymology of the name Raddusa is linked to an Arabic root.
The origin of the toponym, however, is controversial, according to a first line of thought it is connected to an Arabic root which means rock-breaker or quarry, with reference to the rocky nature of the territory . A second line of thought derives the term Raddusa from the Arabic term Rabdusa, meaning land of abundant vegetation, given the large agricultural production, in particular cereal production, which characterizes and has characterized this territory.
