Origins of the name "Regalbuto"
The name "Regalbuto" bears witness to the ancient history of this village and the role it assumed during the Saracen rule.
Regalbuto was born in the Muslim era: it was a farmhouse that connected the city of Palermo with that of Catania. The term Regalbuto in fact derives from the Arabic term Rahl bayt which in Arabic means station of the farmhouse.
