Stromboli and the "strummulo"

The volcano of the island of Stromboli is called by local inhabitants with the name of Struògnuli.
This term recalls the sicilian term strummolo, the ancient Sicilian spinning top. This is how the inhabitants of Stromboli call their volcano for its perfect shape which recalls, precisely, that of strummolo.
