"A beautiful November" - Viagrande
Villa Manganelli Biscari in Viagrande was the set of "A beautiful November", a film with Gina Lollobrigida set in Sicily.
The film, directed by Mauro Bolognini and based on the novel by Ercole Patti, tells of a seventeen-year-old young man, Nino, who feels abandoned and misunderstood. Only Cettina, played by Gina Lollobrigida, her mother's sister, manages to make him happy, to the point that the boy falls in love with her. A dangerous relationship arises between the two.
The film was shot in various cities in the Catania hinterland: Acireale, Catania, Giarre, Nicolosi, Pedara, Viagrande, Aci Sant'Antonio.
In particular, some scenes were shot in the Villa Manganelli Biscari in Viagrande where you can recognize the interiors of the villa and the stained glass windows.
