Bagheria with its villa Valguarnera appears in some scenes of the film "The goddess Fortuna".
“La dea fortuna” is a 2019 film directed by Ferzan Özpetek and starring Edoardo Leo, Stefano Accorsi and Jasmine Trinca. Winner of two David di Donatello, for the best leading actress to Jasmine Trinca and for the best original song written and performed by Diodato. The film tells of Arturo, a translator, and Alessandro, a plumber, who have been a couple for fifteen years. Their relationship has been in crisis for some time, but finds new stimuli when their friend Annamaria asks the two to take care of the children.
Filming in Sicily took place between Villa Valguarnera in Bagheria and in the Virgin Mary area of Palermo.
Villa Valguarnera is, in the film, Elena Muscarà's villa where her grandchildren are taken after their mother's death.
